The Pleasence Centre
Welcome to the Pleasence Centre, Invenio Academy’s specialist Performing Arts mini-school. Situated at the West End of the new Academy building, all of the parts of the Pleasence Centre are named after famous West End locations, or parts of a theatre.
The Pleasence Centre leadership team consists of:
- Mr S J Maxson, Assistant Head Teacher
- Mrs E Ricketts, Lead Teacher of Learning
- Miss L Clark, Learning Coach
Our students are drawn from across Years 7 – 10, and include students who have opted to specialise in one or more Performing Arts subjects in Key Stage 4. Subjects offered by our specialist Performing Arts teachers include GCSE Dance, Drama and Music; BTEC Music and Performing Arts; Arts Award and, for students in Year 10, the Creative and Media Diploma.
In common with the other Discover schools, we issue regular reports, usually every three weeks, showing the progress of our students in each of their subjects. From January 2012, we have begun to send a newsletter home with each set of reports. Our latest newsletter can be downloaded, here:
